A frameless glass balustrade is a fantastic addition to any deck or balcony. It provides you
with a completely secure barrier while allowing you to enjoy completely uninterrupted views.

There are a number of things to consider when selecting the right glass balustrade for you.
Firstly, whether or not you would like a handrail at top of the glass. If you are fixing into
timber decking we would recommend having some form of fixing at the top of the glass.

Stainless Steel & Glass

If you do not want to have a handrail, you could consider glass stiffeners as an alternative.

Secondly, have you considered what colour you would like the profile to be? As standard our profiles are supplied
in a natural anodised (dark silver) finish but we can powder coat to any RAL colour that you
would like.

Thirdly, the glass thickness that you would like. With frameless glass systems, this is usually determined by
where it is being installed (see below).

Frameless Glass

It is important that your frameless glass balustrade is compliant with building regulations.
There are two things that you need to consider.

Firstly, if your frameless glass balustrade is
protecting a fall of 600mm or more then you should either have a laminate glass and/ or a
handrail.

Secondly, you frameless glass balustrade needs to comply with the relevant line
load test. If your frameless glass balustrade protecting a fall of more than 600mm, then it is
likely to have to meet a higher line load test (usually 0.74Kn) than if your frameless glass
balustrade is protecting a fall of less than 600mm when the line load test is likely to be lower
(0.36kN). To meet a higher line test you will require a thicker glass. Our technical team are happy to
advise you on this.
